Nearly fifty years after its screen debut in 1964, the Aston Martin DB5 has left an indelible mark on popular culture. Due to the amazing impact James Bond had and still has, the DB5 still is one of or probably the most iconic car ever produced. In 1963, Aston Martin introduced the DB5 at the Earl’s Court Motor Show in London. The design was similar to the DB4, but the six-cylinder engine displacement had been increased to 4-liters. It had three SU carburetors as standard equipment, with horsepower increased by 20 percent to 282 horsepower. Other refinements included a twin fuel fillers, electric windows, a highly tuned exhaust system. An automatic gearbox also became an additional option for the DB5. Between 1963 and 1965, just 886 DB5’s were produced, all of which received Touring’s Superleggera (super light) bodywork. Our DB5 RHD is the beloved five speed manual gearbox version! Original European example, sold new in January 1964 to Mr. Hattersley in Sheffield UK. Original and beautiful colour scheme “Caribbean Pearl” blue metallic with a very nice black leather interior. The car is fully “Matching Numbers”. Has been restored about 15 years ago, very clean and solid bodywork, nice paint and perfect panel fittings. Comes with an Aston Martin Buildsheet that confirms numbers, colours and first owner. Aston DB5 RHD in a stunning throughout condition, a true collectors item! Further information on request.
